We were approached by a local farmer who wanted to convert a Suzuki Jimny into a Mini Milk Float to enable him to deliver in areas where a normal vehicle would struggle to.
Our Team advised the customer of the options available, ie the level of conversion required in terms of the amount of milk crates they want to hold in the back etc.
The Suzuki Jimny’s astounding capabilities as an off-road vehicle (or an agricultural vehicle) makes it a unique choice for farmers.
K2 was naturally very excited at the prospect of taking on this project and are proud to have delivered it within one week from inception to completion; with the end result being a very happy farmer!
The Work/What we Did
This project involved removing the seats from the Jimny, before floor-lining it with marine grade plywood, finishing it off with a 5mm rubber matting for easy cleaning and waterproofing.
For ease of use, the Milk Float conversion needed to have an open back to eliminate the need to keep opening and closing the tailgate, so we removed the tailgate and all the wiring that was fed inside the tailgate was removed and sealed off inside one of the quarter panels, allowing the customer the flexibility to revert back in the future.
As there is no tailgate on this Jimny the front cabin needed to be sealed off – to do this, K2 constructed a board, which had to be cut very precisely to ensure a neat and professional finish before sealing it off.
The customer also requested a rear windscreen installation, which we were only too happy to provide – this required specialist fabrication before the windscreen could be installed.
The overall finish was spectacular, giving us more ideas about what can be achieved in the future, but most importantly, we made a new friend.
Our Team is currently exploring other creative options for the Suzuki Jimny to add to our Dog Conversion, Jimny Lifts and Milk Float conversions.
