Common Rust Areas in Suzuki Jimnys
Suzuki Jimnys are known to develop rust in a few key spots over time, especially if they’re exposed to moisture, road salt, or off-road adventures. Here are the most common rust-prone areas:
- Rear Wheel Arches: A frequent trouble spot, the rear wheel arches can trap mud and moisture, leading to rust.
- Boot Floor: This area is susceptible to water ingress, especially if seals are compromised.
- Chassis and Underside: As with many 4x4s, the Jimny’s chassis is exposed to the elements, making it a hotspot for corrosion.

- Early Protection: If you have purchased a second hand Jimny have it inspected by us and we will let you know the level of protection it has or is needed. And if you have purchased a brand new Jimny have it protected soon as you can. We have rust-treated many gen4 Jimny's for customers who have had them sent to us from main dealers before they have take delivery to themselves.
- Regular Cleaning: Thoroughly wash the underbody to remove mud and salt. Making sure you let moisture dry up soon as its possible.
- Reapplication: We recommend having your Jimny toped up with a single coat of underseal after every 12month. This way we could keep an eye on main areas that can still be effected even though a coating has been applied. We would immediately notice any slight bubbling and act on them areas first (ie peel off the old bubbled coating apply the rust converter and then re underseal). All this would be photograghed.
